A beam of crackling energy surges towards the Beholder. It withers to a small spark and fizzles to nothing without even getting close to the monster. The Beholder angrily turns its gaze towards the caster. A dagger sails through the air behind immediately following the spell, giving no reprieve and striking deep into the depths of its target's eye. The remaining eye stalks splay out and then fall against the monster's sides. The Beholder's body falls to the ground a second later. Some faint fanfare falters for a moment, but suddenly resumes with a rousing rhythm.
The rogue rose from her hiding place, a wild gleam in her eye. She wasn't usually a braggart but sometimes the situation demanded it, and this was /definitely/ one of those situations.
